Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kushmanda Ghrita is a traditional Ayurvedic polyherbal formulation prepared by processing the juice of *Benincasa hispida* (Kushmanda) and the paste of *Glycyrrhiza glabra* (Yashtimadhu) in cow's ghee (*Go-ghrita*). It is traditionally classified as a *Medhya Rasayana*, a class of rejuvenative herbs specifically targeted at enhancing cognitive functions such as memory, concentration, and intelligence. Modern pharmacological studies have highlighted its neuroprotective effects, particularly in models of dementia and Alzheimer's disease, where it appears to modulate oxidative stress and provide antioxidant support. It is also used in Ayurveda for treating respiratory conditions, epilepsy, and psychiatric disorders.
