Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Kushta Nuqra (also known as silver calx or Argentum Calx) is a classical Unani mineral-based formulation prepared through the traditional calcination (kushtasazi) of purified silver. Developed and manufactured by Dawakhana Tibbiya College (Aligarh Muslim University) and other traditional medicine manufacturers like Hamdard and Dehlvi, it is primarily used as a potent cardiotonic, nervine, and aphrodisiac. Kushta Nuqra is indicated for the treatment of general weakness, debility, cerebral atony, palpitation, anxiety, and male sexual debility (including spermatorrhoea and nocturnal emission). It is traditionally administered orally, often in combination with other Unani tonics such as Khamira Gaozaban Ambari Jawaharwala or Labub Kabir.
