Drug intelligence / Profile preview
KV-003 is a small molecule oxepanoprolinamide (OPP) antibiotic being developed by Kinvard Bio. It is designed to target the peptidyl transferase center (PTC) of the bacterial ribosome, thereby blocking protein synthesis and inhibiting bacterial growth. The drug is specifically being developed for the treatment of chronic respiratory infections, including non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) lung disease caused by *Mycobacterium abscessus* (MAB) and *Mycobacterium avium complex* (MAC). As of early 2024, KV-003 is in the discovery stage of development.
