Overview

KW-026 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic being developed by Kawin Technology for the treatment of chronic Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. As an siRNA-based therapy, it is designed to utilize the endogenous RNA interference (RNAi) pathway to target and degrade specific viral RNA transcripts. This silencing of viral gene expression leads to a reduction in the production of essential viral proteins, such as the Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), and suppresses viral replication. The primary goal of KW-026 is to lower the viral burden and potentially restore the host's immune response, contributing to the effort to achieve a functional cure for patients with chronic HBV.
