KX-99 is a preclinical-stage monoclonal antibody being developed by Paradox Immunotherapeutics for the treatment of ALECT2 amyloidosis (leukocyte chemotactic factor 2 amyloidosis). ALECT2 amyloidosis is a rare form of systemic amyloidosis that primarily affects the kidneys and is a significant cause of chronic kidney disease and failure, particularly within Hispanic populations. KX-99 is designed using a proprietary drug discovery platform to selectively target and promote the clearance of misfolded LECT2 proteins, which aggregate into amyloid fibrils, while leaving healthy, functional proteins untouched. This selective approach aims to halt disease progression and potentially reverse organ damage by removing toxic protein aggregates. As of early 2025, the program is in preclinical development, supported by funding from SymBiosis Capital Management.
