Overview

KX2-361 is a lipophilic, orally available small molecule that acts as a dual inhibitor of Src kinase activity and tubulin polymerization. It is designed to target both the Src family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases and microtubule formation by binding to tubulin heterodimers, thereby disrupting mitosis and inhibiting tumor cell proliferation. The drug demonstrates good oral bioavailability and can cross the blood-brain barrier in animal models. Developed primarily for antineoplastic indications, especially glioma and other solid tumors, it has orphan drug designation for glioma but its clinical development has been discontinued for brain cancer, glioblastoma, solid tumors, and general cancer[1][2][3][4][5][6].
