KY-3 is an orally bioavailable small molecule RNA helicase inhibitor currently in preclinical development by Keye Life Sciences (Kaiyue) for the treatment of late-stage solid tumors. RNA helicases are enzymes that catalyze the unwinding of RNA duplexes, playing vital roles in RNA metabolism, including transcription, splicing, and translation. In many advanced cancers, specific RNA helicases are overexpressed to support rapid cell proliferation and survival under metabolic stress. KY-3 is designed to selectively inhibit these enzymes, thereby disrupting the translation of oncogenic proteins and inducing apoptosis in tumor cells. The candidate is being evaluated for its potential to treat various refractory solid tumors.
