Kylo-04 is an investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) therapeutic developed by Kylonova for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and dyslipidemia. Utilizing Kylonova's proprietary Nano-lipid Particles Delivery Platform (NPDP), Kylo-04 is designed to target and degrade the mRNA of Angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3) in the liver. ANGPTL3 is a critical regulator of lipid metabolism that inhibits lipoprotein lipase (LPL) and endothelial lipase (EL). By silencing the expression of the ANGPTL3 protein, Kylo-04 facilitates the breakdown of triglycerides and the clearance of cholesterol-rich lipoproteins from the bloodstream. This mechanism aims to provide a potent and long-acting therapeutic option for patients with refractory hypercholesterolemia or familial hyperchylomicronemia who are inadequately controlled by standard lipid-lowering therapies.
