Drug intelligence / Profile preview
L-2263 is a small molecule inhibitor that selectively targets Transmembrane protein 205 (TMEM205). It is being investigated for its potential to treat obesity-associated endometrial cancer by inhibiting TMEM205-mediated exosome secretion. In preclinical studies, L-2263 has demonstrated the ability to reduce the secretion of exosomes and the expression of oncogenic proteins like STAT5. Furthermore, it has shown efficacy in reducing body weight and adipose tissue accumulation while normalizing uterine morphology in high-fat diet mouse models, suggesting a role in both the prevention and treatment of obesity-linked gynecologic malignancies.
