Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination therapy consisting of l-5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP), carbidopa, and phentermine used for weight loss treatment. 5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin that increases brain serotonin levels when combined with carbidopa, which prevents peripheral conversion of 5-HTP to serotonin. Phentermine is an amphetamine derivative that suppresses appetite. This triple combination has been shown to produce greater weight loss with fewer psychomotor side effects than each drug alone.
