Overview

L-alpha-glycerophosphorylethanolamine is a small molecule compound with the molecular formula C5H14NO6P and a molecular weight of 215.14 g/mol[1][4][7]. It is also known as ethanolamine glycerophosphate anhydrous. This compound is a metabolite found in or produced by Escherichia coli and has been investigated as an adjunct therapy for the maintenance of cognitive function in the elderly[1][2]. Its mechanism of action is not fully elucidated but it may be involved in phospholipid metabolism due to its structural similarity to phosphatidylethanolamines, which are key components of biological membranes[1][2]. The drug is considered experimental and has not been fully annotated or approved for any indication at this time[2].
