Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Androfluxx is a nutraceutical supplement developed by Ruhrpharm, primarily indicated for the management of erectile dysfunction. Its active ingredient is l-arginine, a semi-essential amino acid that serves as the physiological precursor for nitric oxide (NO). In the body, l-arginine is converted by the enzyme nitric oxide synthase (NOS) into nitric oxide, which then activates soluble guanylate cyclase in vascular smooth muscle. This leads to an increase in cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), resulting in smooth muscle relaxation, vasodilation, and improved blood flow to the corpus cavernosum. Androfluxx is marketed as a dietary supplement to support circulatory health and erectile potency, providing a non-hormonal approach to male sexual health.
