Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**L-citrulline malate** is an orally administered nutritional amino-acid salt consisting of l-citrulline and malate. Citrulline is converted through the arginine-citrulline pathway to l-arginine, supporting nitric-oxide production and potentially improving endothelial-dependent vasodilation and pulmonary vascular tone. It has been clinically studied as an adjunctive intervention in idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension, Eisenmenger syndrome, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, but the available studies are small and do not establish it as an approved treatment for these conditions.
