Overview

L-lysine + L-arginine is a combination of two naturally occurring amino acids, both of which are essential for human health. L-lysine is an essential amino acid required for protein synthesis, calcium absorption, collagen formation, and energy production. L-arginine is a semi-essential amino acid involved in protein synthesis and serves as a precursor to nitric oxide, which acts as a vasodilator to improve blood flow. The combination has been studied as a dietary supplement for its potential to reduce anxiety by normalizing hormonal stress responses in individuals with high trait anxiety. Additionally, the pair may enhance bone-building cell activity and collagen production. Both amino acids share transport mechanisms into the brain that can be competitively inhibited by high concentrations of either compound[2][3][6]. This combination is primarily used as a dietary supplement rather than as an approved pharmaceutical drug.
