Overview
ACIDIF PLUS® is a phytotherapeutic combination product consisting of the amino acid L-methionine, Hibiscus sabdariffa extract, and Boswellia serrata leaf extract. It is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of recurrent uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women. L-methionine acts as a urinary acidifier, creating an environment less favorable for bacterial growth. Hibiscus sabdariffa provides antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, while Boswellia serrata contributes additional anti-inflammatory activity, specifically through the inhibition of 5-lipoxygenase. The product has been evaluated in clinical trials as a non-antibiotic alternative for UTI symptom relief and for the prevention of postoperative UTIs following pelvic reconstructive surgery.
