Drug intelligence / Profile preview
L-Zinex Duo is a combination oral syrup containing levocetirizine dihydrochloride and montelukast sodium. Developed and marketed by Iberica Verheilen Pharmaceuticals, it is designed to provide dual-action relief for allergic and respiratory conditions. Levocetirizine is a second-generation H1-receptor antagonist that blocks the action of histamine, thereby reducing symptoms such as sneezing, rhinorrhea, and itching. Montelukast is a selective leukotriene receptor antagonist that inhibits the cysteinyl leukotriene CysLT1 receptor, which helps to reduce airway edema, smooth muscle contraction, and inflammation. The syrup is specifically indicated for the treatment of seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis, chronic idiopathic urticaria, and as an add-on therapy for mild to moderate persistent asthma in patients aged 15 years and older.
