Drug intelligence / Profile preview
L19-AuNP is a targeted gold nanoparticle (AuNP) functionalized with the L19 antibody, specifically designed to target the extra-domain B of fibronectin (FN-EDB). FN-EDB is a marker of angiogenesis and tissue remodeling that is highly expressed in the tumor microenvironment of various malignancies, including neuroblastoma, while remaining virtually absent in normal adult tissues. Developed by Nano Flow, L19-AuNP is being investigated as a diagnostic tool for photoacoustic imaging and as a potential theranostic platform. Preclinical studies in neuroblastoma patient-derived xenograft (PDX) models have demonstrated that L19-AuNP specifically homes to and accumulates in tumors expressing high levels of FN-EDB, localized within tumor cells, stroma, and vasculature. This targeted approach aims to enhance diagnostic precision and pave the way for the development of theranostic nanoformulations that co-encapsulate gold moieties with standard-of-care treatments for neuroblastoma.
