Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**L5 peptide** is a 14-amino acid peptide (Arg-Leu-Asn-Val-Gly-Gly-Thr-Tyr-Phe-Leu-Thr-Thr-Arg-Gln) that targets Glypican 3 (GPC3), a plasma membrane heparan sulfate proteoglycan overexpressed in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It is used in a pretargeting approach to enhance magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for diagnosing HCC by binding to GPC3-expressing cells. The peptide is often used in conjunction with ultrasmall superparamagnetic iron oxide (USPIO) nanoparticles for MR imaging.
