Overview

Lacidofil is a probiotic preparation that contains a combination of two specific strains of lactic acid bacteria: *Lactobacillus rhamnosus* R0011 (also referred to as *Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus* R0011) and *Lactobacillus helveticus* R0052. [1, 2, 4, 14] It is formulated to support gut health and has been investigated in numerous clinical studies for various indications. Research suggests its efficacy in the prevention of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, as an adjunct therapy for *Helicobacter pylori* eradication, and in the management of pediatric gastroenteritis. [4, 7, 16] Studies have also shown potential benefits in treating atopic dermatitis in children, where it was associated with clinical improvement and a reduced need for corticosteroids. [17] The mechanism of action is believed to involve modulating the gut microbiota, competing with pathogens, and regulating local and systemic immune and inflammatory responses. [4, 7, 17]
