Overview

Lactasin (乳酶生) is a live biotherapeutic product containing dried preparations of live bacteria, primarily *Enterococcus faecalis* (formerly *Streptococcus faecalis*). It functions by decomposing carbohydrates in the intestine to produce lactic acid, which increases the acidity of the intestinal environment. This acidic shift inhibits the growth and reproduction of putrefactive bacteria, prevents excessive intestinal fermentation, and reduces gas production. It is indicated for the treatment of digestive disorders such as indigestion, abdominal distension, and diarrhea, particularly in children, caused by dietary imbalance. It also serves as an auxiliary treatment for intestinal flora imbalance and secondary infections resulting from prolonged antibiotic use. [1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 15]
