Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lacticaseibacillus paracasei LA802 (formerly Lactobacillus paracasei LA 802) is a specific probiotic bacterial strain developed and marketed by the French laboratory PiLeJe. It is a live lactic acid bacterium that has been deposited and registered in the Collection Nationale de Cultures de Microorganismes (CNCM) at the Institut Pasteur. The strain is the primary active component in the Lactibiane Buccodental supplement, where it is dosed at 1 billion CFU per tablet to support oral and dental health, specifically contributing to the maintenance of normal teeth and gums. It is also included in the Lactibiane Immuno formulation for immune system support. As a probiotic, it works through the modulation of the microbiome and interaction with the host immune system. These products are typically formulated as chewable tablets and are categorized as dietary supplements rather than pharmaceutical drugs.
