Overview

**Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus BMX 54** is a defined live probiotic bacterial strain administered intravaginally to restore or maintain a lactobacillus-predominant vaginal microbiota. It is marketed by Laboratori Baldacci as **Normogin**, a vaginal-tablet product containing lyophilized BMX 54; published studies have evaluated prolonged vaginal use after standard antimicrobial therapy for bacterial vaginosis, vaginitis with concomitant human papillomavirus infection, and prevention of abnormal vaginal flora during pregnancy. Its therapeutic rationale is microbiome restoration rather than direct antimicrobial killing: re-establishment of vaginal eubiosis may lower vaginal pH and impede overgrowth of pathogenic organisms.
