Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LR110 (DSM 33794) is a gram-positive, probiotic bacterial strain isolated from human feces and is part of the NORDBIOTIC™ strain collection developed by Nordic Biotic. [1] The active ingredient is the live bacterial strain itself. This strain has been investigated in a clinical setting as part of a multi-strain probiotic formulation (NORDBIOTIC™) for the treatment of symptomatic acute respiratory tract infections, including COVID-19. Genomic analysis of the strain has identified genes associated with thiamine salvage, lactose metabolism, putrescine biosynthesis, and bacteriocin production, which suggest potential therapeutic applications in managing conditions such as inflammatory diseases, obesity, and allergies.
