Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus LRa05 + Limosilactobacillus reuteri LR08 is a probiotic combination developed by Wecare Probiotics, primarily investigated for its therapeutic potential in women's health. The combination consists of two specific live biotherapeutic strains: *L. rhamnosus* LRa05 and *L. reuteri* LR08. These strains are designed to colonize the vaginal and intestinal mucosa to restore microbial balance. Their mechanism of action involves the production of lactic acid to maintain an acidic environment, the secretion of hydrogen peroxide and bacteriocins to inhibit the growth of pathogens, and competitive exclusion to prevent the adhesion of harmful bacteria and fungi. Clinical studies have focused on the efficacy of this combination in treating and preventing bacterial vaginosis (BV) and vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), as well as supporting general gastrointestinal and immune health.
