Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactiplantibacillus plantarum FB00015 is a specific probiotic strain developed by FitBiomics. It is one of three proprietary strains included in the probiotic product "Nella," which is designed to improve the quality of sleep by leveraging gut immune and gut-brain benefits. As a strain of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, it is expected to exert its beneficial effects through mechanisms common to the species, such as inhibiting pathogenic bacteria by producing antimicrobial substances, modulating the immune system by interacting with gut-associated lymphoid tissue, enhancing gut barrier function, and fermenting undigested carbohydrates to produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs). This particular strain is derived from the gut microbiomes of elite athletes.
