Overview

Lactiplantibacillus plantarum LP28 (formerly Lactobacillus plantarum LP28) is a probiotic bacterial strain originally isolated from traditional Taiwanese dried tofu (Daxi dried tofu). Developed by SynbioTech, it is marketed under the brand name Synmue. LP28 has been shown to support immune resilience and healthy aging by increasing natural killer (NK) cell cytotoxic activity, reducing inflammatory burden (such as C-reactive protein), and improving immune regulation (such as interleukin-12). It also enhances the production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) and strengthens anti-inflammatory responses in the gut. LP28 is utilized as a dietary supplement and functional food ingredient for gut health, immune support, and healthy aging.
