Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactoangin is a medical device developed by Synthaverse (formerly Biomed-Lublin) designed to support the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections affecting the oral cavity and throat. It is a postbiotic formulation containing metabolites of *Lactobacillus* lactic acid bacteria, menthol, and peppermint oil. The product works by creating a protective barrier on the oral and pharyngeal mucosa, moisturizing the tissue, and exhibiting antimicrobial properties that inhibit the growth of pathogenic bacteria while supporting the natural oral microbiota. It is indicated for relieving throat pain and irritation in adults and children from 3 years of age, while the 'Baby' variant is formulated for infants over 6 months of age.
