Lactobacillin is a biologic product derived from the fermentation of skim milk by Lactobacillus acidophilus. It is classified as a digestive non-prescription drug in China. Its mechanism of action involves modulating the intestinal environment by forming a protective barrier, stimulating local immune responses, selectively inhibiting pathogenic bacteria, promoting beneficial flora, regulating intestinal electrolyte and water balance, and enhancing digestive function. It is primarily used for various gastrointestinal disorders and is currently under investigation for the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis.
