Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus bi-species live vaginal capsule is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) being developed by Zhejiang Xinlifi Biotechnology for the treatment of bacterial vaginosis. The formulation contains two live strains of Lactobacillus designed to be administered intravaginally to restore a healthy vaginal microbiome. By replenishing beneficial bacteria, the treatment aims to lower vaginal pH through lactic acid production and inhibit the overgrowth of anaerobic pathogens associated with vaginosis. It has undergone Phase 1 clinical testing to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and impact on vaginal flora in healthy volunteers.
