Overview
Lactobacillus casei CECT 9104 is a specific strain of probiotic bacteria. [1] It is used in dietary supplements and is often combined with other probiotic strains, such as Bifidobacterium lactis CECT 8145 and Bifidobacterium longum CECT 7347. [2, 7] This probiotic works by modulating the gut microbiota, exerting anti-inflammatory effects, and exhibiting activity against certain gut pathogens. [2, 3] Clinical studies have shown its efficacy in improving symptoms of atopic dermatitis in children and it is also being investigated for its role in managing diarrhea. [2, 7, 13, 16] The mechanism involves restoring the balance of gut bacteria, which can be disrupted in conditions like atopic dermatitis, and modulating the host's immune response. [3, 5, 10]
