Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus crispatus LCr86 is a specific probiotic strain developed by Wecare Probiotics for the management of vaginal dysbiosis. Administered as an oral supplement, LCr86 is designed to colonize the vaginal environment and restore a healthy microbiome, particularly in women with intermediate vaginal microbiota (Nugent scores 4-6). The strain works by producing lactic acid, which lowers vaginal pH, and by competing with pathogenic bacteria such as Gardnerella vaginalis. Clinical evaluation focuses on its ability to reduce Nugent scores, improve vaginal microecology, and modulate serum inflammatory cytokines.
