Lactobacillus crispatus M247 is a proprietary probiotic bacterial strain isolated in 1989 from infant feces and specifically characterized for its ability to colonize the vaginal and intestinal tracts. It is notable as the only probiotic strain studied for its activity in promoting human papillomavirus (HPV) clearance, with clinical studies showing that oral administration can significantly increase HPV negativization rates and restore healthy vaginal microbiota composition[1][2][5][6]. The mechanism of action includes strong adhesion to mucosal surfaces via exopolysaccharide production, maintenance of acidic vaginal pH through lactic acid synthesis, release of bacteriocins with antimicrobial properties, and high hydrogen peroxide production contributing to anti-inflammatory effects[1][7].
