Overview

**Lactobacillus paracasei CNCM I-4034** is a proprietary probiotic bacterial strain isolated from the feces of exclusively breast-fed newborn infants. It was selected for its probiotic properties, including the ability to adhere to intestinal mucus, resistance to biliary salts and low pH, and sensitivity to various antibiotics. In clinical and preclinical studies, this strain has demonstrated safety and good tolerance when administered to healthy volunteers and animal models. Its main mechanism of action is immunomodulation: intake is associated with increases in anti-inflammatory interleukins (such as IL-10 and IL-4), reduction in pro-inflammatory cytokines (notably IL-6), and an improved anti-inflammatory marker profile. Additionally, it has shown potential benefit in reducing liver steatosis and systemic inflammation in models of metabolic dysfunction. The strain is of interest for gut health, metabolic disorders, and immune modulation[1][2][3].
