Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This synbiotic formulation consists of the probiotic strain *Lactobacillus paracasei* F19 combined with the prebiotic fibers fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and galactooligosaccharides (GOS). *L. paracasei* F19 is a lactic acid bacterium known for its ability to survive gastric transit and adhere to the intestinal mucosa, where it modulates the immune system and inhibits pathogens. The prebiotics FOS and GOS are non-digestible carbohydrates that selectively stimulate the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria, such as Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli, in the colon. This combination is primarily investigated for its role in early-life immune development, prevention of allergic diseases such as atopic dermatitis (eczema), and maintenance of healthy gut microbiota in infants and children.
