Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus paracasei LPC09 (also classified as Lacticaseibacillus paracasei LPC09) is a probiotic bacterial strain developed and manufactured by Probiotical. It is primarily utilized for its high oxalate-degrading activity, which helps reduce intestinal absorption of oxalates and prevent hyperoxaluria, thereby lowering the risk of calcium oxalate kidney stone formation and crystalluria. Additionally, LPC09 exhibits antagonistic activity against common uropathogens such as Escherichia coli, making it useful in the management and prevention of urinary tract infections (cystitis) and chronic bacterial prostatitis. It is often formulated in probiotic blends (such as Bificist and Bifiprost) alongside other lactobacilli, plant extracts, or D-mannose.
