Overview
This nutricosmetic combination was developed by Nestlé and L'Oréal (under the Innéov brand) to enhance skin health and provide photoprotection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The formulation centers on the probiotic strain *Lactobacillus paracasei* NCC2461 (also known as ST11), which has been shown in clinical studies to modulate the immune system and reduce UV-induced immunosuppression in the skin. The addition of *Streptococcus thermophilus* and *Lactobacillus delbrueckii* subsp. *bulgaricus* supports the probiotic profile. The supplement also includes a blend of antioxidants—Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and beta-carotene—to neutralize reactive oxygen species generated by sun exposure, alongside B-vitamins (B2 and B3) for skin barrier maintenance and cellular health. The oil component, typically blackcurrant seed oil, provides essential fatty acids to support skin hydration and integrity. The Innéov joint venture was discontinued in 2015, though the research into these components continues within Nestlé's health science portfolio.
