Overview

Lactobacillus plantarum 276 (Lp276) is a probiotic strain of Gram-positive bacteria belonging to the Lactiplantibacillus genus, developed by Arm & Hammer (Church & Dwight Co.). Selected from a microbial library for its superior anti-inflammatory properties, Lp276 is designed to maintain intestinal epithelial barrier function and modulate wound repair in the gut. It regulates the expression of inflammatory cytokines during immune stimulus and is characterized by its ability to survive the gastrointestinal environment, including resistance to low pH and bile salts. The strain is classified as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) and is primarily targeted at reducing gut inflammation and supporting immune system health in both human and animal applications.
