Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus plantarum HUN082 (also known as Lactiplantibacillus plantarum HNU082 or Lp082) is a specific probiotic bacterial strain within the species L. plantarum. This strain has been studied for its ability to colonize and adapt to the gut environment across multiple host species (human, mouse, zebrafish), where it acquires mutations that enhance carbohydrate utilization and acid tolerance[3]. In preclinical models of colitis in mice, supplementation with Lp082 demonstrated therapeutic effects by protecting the intestinal mucosal barrier, modulating inflammatory pathways (including reducing neutrophil infiltration), and actively regulating the gut microbiome composition[6]. The probiotic’s mechanisms include competitive inhibition of pathogenic bacteria adhesion and modulation of host immune responses. No evidence was found for approval or clinical use in humans; current data are primarily from animal studies.
