Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactobacillus plantarum KY1032 is a specific probiotic strain developed by the Korean company hy Co., Ltd., and isolated from kimchi. [25, 28] It is most frequently studied and marketed in a combination product with *Lactobacillus curvatus HY7601* for its effects on metabolic health. [18] Research, including preclinical studies and human clinical trials, has investigated its potential to manage overweight and obesity, hypertriglyceridemia, and age-related cognitive decline. The proposed mechanisms of action include the modulation of the gut microbiota, inhibition of adipogenesis (fat cell formation) by downregulating key transcription factors like PPAR-γ, and improving lipid metabolism by upregulating the expression of apolipoprotein A-V (ApoA-V), PPARα, and FXR. [21554138, 23555678, 26117402, 26699746] It is administered orally, typically as a powder or in a capsule. [26044516, 35745214]
