Overview

Lactobacillus plantarum P 17630 is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) consisting of a specific probiotic bacterial strain isolated from healthy human vaginal flora. Developed by PROGE FARM, it is designed to restore the healthy lactobacillary balance of the vaginal microflora and inhibit the adhesion of Candida albicans to vaginal epithelial cells. It is indicated for the treatment and prevention of vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC), including recurrent cases, as well as other vaginal infections like vaginitis and vaginosis. The drug is available in both topical vaginal and oral capsule formulations, with the oral version marketed under the brand name Rosella. Clinical evaluation includes a Phase 2 trial comparing its efficacy to miconazole in pre-menopausal women.
