Overview

Lactobacillus rhamnosus CCFM1130 is a specific probiotic strain developed by Jiangnan University, primarily recognized for its therapeutic potential in heavy metal detoxification and chronic metabolic disorders. The strain is characterized by its high capacity to bind and sequester lead (Pb) ions within the gastrointestinal tract, thereby reducing systemic absorption and promoting fecal excretion. Beyond its role in lead poisoning, CCFM1130 has been extensively researched for its ability to modulate the gut-kidney axis. In the context of chronic kidney disease (CKD), it helps reduce the accumulation of uremic toxins, such as p-cresol sulfate, by altering the gut microbiota composition and preserving intestinal barrier integrity. Additionally, the strain exhibits antioxidant properties and has shown potential in managing hyperuricemia by regulating uric acid metabolism and excretion.
