Lactobacillus rhamnosus-derived extracellular vesicles (LGG-EVs) are nanoparticles released by the probiotic bacterium *Lactobacillus rhamnosus* GG. They are being investigated for their therapeutic potential in inflammatory conditions, particularly inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as ulcerative colitis. [1, 9] Preclinical studies in mice with DSS-induced colitis have shown that LGG-EVs can reduce intestinal inflammation and tissue damage. [1, 4] The proposed mechanism of action involves the inhibition of the TLR4-NF-κB-NLRP3 signaling pathway, which leads to a decrease in pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6. [1, 2, 3] Additionally, LGG-EVs have been observed to modulate the gut microbiota, restoring a healthier composition in diseased models. [1, 3]
