Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**lactobacillus rhamnosus GG + bifidobacterium lactis BB12** is an oral two-strain probiotic preparation comprising *Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus* GG, formerly *Lactobacillus rhamnosus* GG and also known as LGG, and *Bifidobacterium animalis* subsp. *lactis* BB-12, commonly called *Bifidobacterium lactis* BB-12. It is a dietary probiotic blend rather than a single, globally standardized proprietary medicine. The live bacteria are intended to transiently modulate the gastrointestinal microbiota, support epithelial-barrier function, and influence local immune and metabolic signaling. The exact strain pair has been evaluated orally in randomized clinical studies in newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes and in children with autism spectrum disorder and gastrointestinal symptoms; the completed type 1 diabetes study found no significant preservation of residual beta-cell function.
