Overview

Lactobacillus rhamnosus KL53A + Bifidobacterium breve PB04 is a probiotic combination developed by IBSS BIOMED S.A. and marketed under the brand name FFbaby. The product contains two specific, patented bacterial strains of human origin, isolated from the feces of healthy, breastfed neonates. These strains are selected for their high adherence to intestinal cell lines, ability to survive the harsh environment of the stomach (gastric pH and bile), and their anti-inflammatory and antipathogenic properties. FFbaby is primarily used as a food for special medical purposes to support and restore the intestinal microbiome in infants and children, particularly those born preterm or via cesarean section. Clinical studies have demonstrated its efficacy in reducing the incidence of sepsis in low-birth-weight neonates and preventing gut dysbiosis by promoting the colonization of beneficial lactic acid bacteria.
