Lactobacillus rhamnosus LDTM 7511 is a probiotic bacterial strain isolated from Korean infant feces, currently under investigation for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). As a live biotherapeutic product, it exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and the ability to modulate gut microbiota. In preclinical studies using dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis murine models, LDTM 7511 demonstrated the capacity to alleviate the release of inflammatory mediators (such as TNF-α, IL-6, and nitric oxide) and normalize bacterial dysbiosis by transitioning the gut microbiome from a diseased state toward a healthy composition. The strain also shows high adherence to intestinal cells and survival in gastrointestinal tract models, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic probiotic for managing intestinal inflammation.
