Overview

Lactobacillus rhamnosus ŁOCK 0900 is a specific, patented strain of probiotic bacteria developed and manufactured by the Polish company Biomed S.A. [2, 5]. It was previously classified as Lactobacillus casei ŁOCK 0900 [4, 6]. This strain is not marketed as a standalone product but is a key component of a three-strain probiotic mixture sold under the brand name Latopic® [1, 2]. This mixture, which also contains Lactobacillus rhamnosus ŁOCK 0908 and Lactobacillus casei ŁOCK 0919, is intended for the dietary management of atopic dermatitis and food allergies, particularly in children [3, 4, 5]. Clinical studies have evaluated the efficacy of this combination in alleviating symptoms of atopic dermatitis by modulating the gut microbiome and the host's immune system to promote anti-allergic mechanisms [2, 3, 5, 7].
