Overview

Lactobacillus rhamnosus M9 (also known as Probio-M9) is a specific probiotic bacterial strain originally isolated from human colostrum. It is developed as a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) intended to modulate the gut microbiome and enhance therapeutic outcomes in oncology and metabolic diseases. In clinical settings, it is being evaluated for its ability to synergize with immune checkpoint inhibitors (such as PD-1 inhibitors) and radiotherapy in patients with advanced digestive system malignancies, likely by promoting a pro-inflammatory tumor microenvironment through gut-immune axis modulation. Additionally, it is under investigation for its potential to improve glycemic control and cognitive function in patients with Type 1 Diabetes.
