Mechanistically, it acts by inhibiting pathogenic bacteria (including both bacteria and fungi), reducing inflammation in the gut, and supporting mucosal barrier integrity. Key applications of Lactobacillus rhamnosus R7970 include: - Prevention and relief of gastrointestinal discomfort following mechanical injury such as colonoscopy (reducing symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, bloating, indigestion, and rectal bleeding)[3]. - Prevention or treatment of infectious diseases caused by pathogenic bacteria or fungi—including oral pathogens—due to its broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity[6]. - Potential prevention of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) through anti-inflammatory effects on the gut[4].
