Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PRONULIFE GlukoSolu is a probiotic combination developed by Glac Biotech Co., Ltd., consisting of two specific bacterial strains: *Lactobacillus salivarius* AP-32 and *Lactobacillus reuteri* GL-104. This biologic therapy is designed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The mechanism of action involves the downregulation of monosaccharide transporters in the intestinal tract, specifically sodium-glucose co-transporter 1 (SGLT1) and glucose transporter 5 (GLUT5). By modulating these transporters, the combination helps reduce glucose absorption, thereby lowering fasting blood glucose levels and improving glucose tolerance. Preclinical studies in diabetic models have also demonstrated improvements in blood lipid profiles and protective effects on β-cells, liver, and kidney functions.
