Lactocare

Lactocare is a synbiotic product (a combination of probiotics and prebiotics) developed by the Iranian company ZistTakhmir and marketed in various regions, including Scandinavia through licensing agreements with Teva and Trimb Healthcare. It typically consists of a high-potency blend of seven or eight probiotic strains, including *Lactobacillus casei*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus rhamnosus*, *Lactobacillus bulgaricus*, *Bifidobacterium breve*, *Bifidobacterium longum* (or *infantis*), and *Streptococcus thermophilus*, supplemented with the prebiotic fructooligosaccharide (FOS). Lactocare is designed to modulate the gut microbiota and provide anti-inflammatory benefits. Clinical research has investigated its efficacy as a complementary treatment for mild-to-moderate ulcerative colitis and for reducing viral respiratory infections and exacerbations in children with asthma.
